Community letter writing nights
Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. - Feb 26, Mar 5 + 12
In partnership with the League of Women Voters of Ashland and Bayfield County
Come together in a fun, inclusive environment to ask the governor and state legislators to consider YOUR priorities in the state's 2025-2027 budget.
NOTE ON February 26 - After writing your letter, head to the Washburn Library for A Community Conversation and Q&A with Angela Stroud - 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Come put your cursive or D'nealian skills to good use!
Your words have power!
The Wisconsin Biennial Budget process is underway. Our elected representatives will be making decisions on how our tax dollars will be spent and what to do with the current surplus.
As a citizen, YOU have an opportunity to participate in the process—adding your voice to how YOUR dollars come back into our communities.
What are the services and programs that are near and dear to you, your family and community?
What personal stories do you have to tell that bring it home for our community?
We’ll have info about some key issues that we’ve heard raised at recent community meetings, but feel free to come with your own issues, perspectives, and personal stories.
We got you covered!
Paper, envelopes, pens, and stamps will be provided by Ghost Ship and the League of Women Voters.
If you're concerned your handwriting resembles the scratches of chickens, bring a computer!
If you’re unable to write, we can help you out!
NOTE: If you don’t want to write to your legislators, you can write to ANYONE. I’m sure your father, best friend, auntie, secret crush, gramma, or favorite cousin would LOVE to hear from you right now.
