We’re honored and excited to host these two incredible bands for a night of moody music that somehow perfectly expresses the feeling of our times (apocalyptic dread).
The Quaking Bogge
Minneapolis / Washburn
Formed circa 2010, The Quaking Bogge is a progressive folk group with gothic overtones. Live appearances are rare, so don’t miss this. Members include Washburn’s Gerard-Jean Boissy (of Thunderbolt Pagoda, Rifle Sport, et al), Erik Wivinus and Matt Entsminger (of Thunderbolt Pagoda, Gates Of Dawn, Magenta Vice), and renowned flutist Julie Johnson. Original pieces, traditional/medieval songs, and reinterpreted covers are all brought to life using unique string instruments (Gerard’s main instrument is a custom-built hybrid of bouzouki and guitar) and dedication to the form. Their bread is sorrow, their drink is tears.
Horse Apiece
Ashland / Washburn
Featuring Jarrod and Jazmin Dahl (co-owners of the Woodspirit School in Ashland), Jeff Orgon (Washburn), and Alex Maleze (Ashland), Horse Apiece plays an eclectic blend of folk, rock, jazz, flamenco, Romani, traditional Eastern European…and more. Somewhere between a chilled out Gogol Bordello and a more danceable Nick Cave. We first saw them play at Shipwrecked last summer and have been looking for opportunities to get them to play the gallery ever since!
